The community is invited to join Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County to celebrate a newly constructed home at 1107 Thistle Street in Bristol, PA. After breaking ground last September, the project is nearing completion and will be dedicated on Tuesday, August 25 at 4:00 pm. Volunteers, friends, family, new neighbors, sponsors, and distinguished guests will unite to celebrate another permanently attainable home sold to a long-time resident of Bucks County.
Bristol native and first-time homebuyer LaToya, is buying a home in the same neighborhood where her grandmother raised her and her siblings.
"You can still make it even when you're against the odds," she shared, recognizing the sacrifices her family has made for her and honoring the strength and perseverance they instilled in her. Together with her grandmother and two children, LaToya can now realize her long-held dream of homeownership.
The completion of this project was made possible through the incredible support of our sponsors, including the County of Bucks, the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority, Parx Casino (Cornerstone Partner), M&T Bank and PECO-Exelon (Rooftop Sponsors), GAF and Lemus Construction (Gift In-Kind Partners), and Woodside Church (Faith Build Sponsor). Together with LaToya's sweat equity, the hours her children volunteered, and the hard work of hundreds of additional volunteers and individual donors, their leadership and financial support helped to make this affordable homeownership project a reality.
After the dedication ceremony, the home will be open for the public to tour. The dedication will also be available to livestream on Facebook.
