Canal Frame
Allentown Road by Ray Overpeck is an oil on board that is 9” x 12”. Ray Overpeck is a Bucks County artist who has lived in Bucks County since he was born in 1933. His formal art training included studying at the Philadelphia Museum College of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. He was fond of drawing since his childhood and in his early youth became enamored with the paintings of Walter Baum. Later he found the French Impressionists who also became an inspiration to him. He followed in this tradition and became an Impressionist painter. Ray has enjoyed painting in Stonington, Maine, but Bucks County has always been his first love. He has received many awards for his work, the latest being the award for Traditional Painting in the style of the New Hope School at the 82nd and 74th Phillips’ Mill shows.
