Santa and Mrs. Claus have chosen Peddler’s Village—a countryside shopping, dining, lodging, and family entertainment destination in the heart of historic Bucks County, PA—as their summer holiday destination! From July 24 through July 27, the world-famous couple will be staying at the on-site Golden Plough Inn, exploring the specialty shops and boutiques in search of holiday gift ideas, dining at Village restaurants, and enjoying summer activities that will include a tour of the Safari in Sand display and attending the Friday night outdoor Safari Party. Santa will also make an appearance at the Saturday evening Christmas-themed murder mystery show.
In celebration of these celebrity visitors, Peddler’s Village will be hosting for the public Santa’s Summer Holiday weekend. On Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, guests will have the opportunity to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus as they travel around Peddler’s Village, stopping in each neighborhood to visit shops to learn about this year’s must-have gifts. They’ll also be dining at Village restaurants. During the Find Santa Photo Hunt happening from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, families who take a photo of Santa on his vacation can visit the Visitor and Event Center to receive a kid-friendly prize.
“Mrs. Claus and I chose Peddler’s Village as our summer holiday spot because it’s one of our favorite places in the world,” said Santa via a video call, stroking his white beard. “We spend a lot of time here in December, but we know it’s a perfect summer destination, too.”
“We wanted to see the amazing sand sculptures we’ve heard so much about,” he continued. “And the shops here. My goodness! They’re really special. I’ll find countless gifts to deliver to families all around the globe—and a few goodies for Mrs. Claus and me too.” He winked.
In addition to shopping, strolling to view the sand sculptures, and enjoying tasty food, Santa and Mrs. Claus will attend the tropical-themed Safari Party, which takes place on Friday, July 25, or “Christmas in July.” The party, which is free to attend, will be held from 5:00 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. and will feature pay-as-you-go food and drinks, activities, live music by the Caribbean-fusion band Trinidelphia, and photo opportunities with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Children can attend a free snow/foam party.
Santa will also make an appearance at the “Most Wonderful Crime of the Year” murder mystery dinner intended for adults that will be held at the Cock ‘n Bull on Saturday evening, July 26.
