The month of September at the Stover Mill Gallery will feature a selection of pastel and oil paintings by Helena van Emmerik – Finn and sculptures by Jeanine Pennell. Inspired by Stover Mill’s unique location on the waterway, the exhibition, “A Celebration of The River”, includes many local scenes and figures of life on the banks of the river.
Helena’s more traditional interpretation includes winter scenes, town life and farmsteads portrayed in an impressionist style. She studied at The Philadelphia College of Art and has taken workshops with many notable instructors.
Jeanine ‘s whimsical perspective includes swimmers and tubers that populate the river during summer months as well as a playful collection of fish-cars (her artistic take on toys from childhood). Her sculptures have an artistic quality and are made of kiln-fired paperclay.
A two-day opening reception for this exhibition will be held on Saturday and Sunday, September 6th & 7th from 1 to 5 pm. The gallery is open on weekends only from 1 – 5 pm. The artists will be in attendance every weekend.
Stover Mill Gallery is located at 852 River Road (Route 32), Erwinna, PA . You can contact Helena through her website at http://hvefinn.com and Jeanine at https://www.bonetownstudio.com/. This exhibition is sponsored by The Tinicum Civic Association, a not for profit organization.
