Eat This
by Diana Cercone
He’s been called the Pied Piper of Good Food. And if you follow him, he’ll lead you to the best sticky buns, perfectly grilled branzino, scrumptious stollen and a flavorful Indian tandoori. So attuned to your foodie wishes, he’ll even find you a local restaurant to romance your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day.
Now most people know him as Chuck Thomas, the convivial host of Eat This!, the video food show produced by Calkins Media. Think of Chuck as your personal culinary scout. If there’s an exceptional dish out there, whether it’s in a fine dining restaurant or a neighborhood joint, Chuck will make sure you know about it.
Tune in on your computer, iPad or smartphone every Wednesday to watch his newest show or catch up on old ones. You can even search venues he’s visited by location or check out recipes. In addition, previews of his latest show are found in the food sections of The Bucks County Courier Times, The Intelligencer and the Burlington County Times to whet your appetite for his latest food find.
But, then, he’s only too happy to tell you where he’s been and where you need to go. Heck, he’ll even tell you what to order. And that’s a good thing, because Chuck knows good food. He grew up with it. Both of his parents were excellent cooks and instilled in him an appreciation of a variety of foods—and the love of cooking. So much so when he lived in the Midwest and Texas he entered chili cook-offs and barbecue contests. He still loves barbecue and is a certified Kansas City Barbecue Society judge, soon to be a master.
