Founded in 1968 as Villa Sorrento by Michael Galasso Sr. and two of his brothers-in-law, Michael’s Restaurant is known for its classic Italian food, catering and its ability to host events in banquet rooms that can accommodate from 10 to 300 people. The history of this restaurant is quite amazing, because during the 1970s they brought in world class entertainers such as Ray Charles, Count Basie and Frank Sinatra Jr. Michael Galasso Jr. is now there more than his father, although Michael Sr. never fully retired and continues to come in daily. The food is considered exceptional by regular diners and reviewers alike. One of the main attractions that brings them a faithful following is table-side service, where the chef, Michael Jr., cooks and prepares food in front of the customer. This is almost magical, especially when he is making Steak Diana Marsala, which is Filet Mignon flamed with brandy, sautéed with marsala wine and mushrooms or flaming desserts such as Bananas Flambe, Cherries Jubilee, Fruit Flambe, and Cafe Romantico. Less flamboyant dishes prepared tableside include salads and other entrees. Specialized wedding packages are available at reasonable prices. Michael’s Restaurant is located at 935 Old Lincoln Hwy, Morrisville, PA 19067. For more information, call 215-295-5001.
