In Spring, 2015 the new 453-suite Camelback Lodge & Indoor Waterpark will open its doors at the base of Camelback Mountain in Tannersville, Pa. The eight-story hotel will feature the largest indoor family entertainment center and indoor waterpark in the Northeast. Complimenting the existing seasonal outdoor waterpark, skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, ziplining, ropes course, mountain coaster and segways. Camelback Resort will soon offer more year-round excitement in one location than any other mountain resort in the country.
The Camelback Lodge & Indoor Waterpark is located at Camelback Resort just 90 minutes from New York City and two hours from Philadelphia in the Pocono Mountains at 193 Resort Drive, PO Box 168, Tannersville, Pa. 18372.
This will be the largest waterpark resort ever constructed in the United States in a single phase. The capital improvement of 163 million dollars will be the largest in the history of Camelback and will take place on a 25-acre development site with 533,000 square feet of construction. The will be a 170,000 square-foot indoor family entertainment center, three restaurants, including a ski-in ski-out bar and outdoor patio at the mountain base. There will also be 25,000 square feet of meeting and conference space.
The 125,000 square-foot, highly themed, 84-degree indoor adventure waterpark is the largest in the eastern United States. In it will be an innovative Texlon transparent roof allowing year-round sun tanning, two levels of water features, seven pools, including recreation, adventure river, kids’ and wave pool. There will be 13 water slides of various thrill levels, a FlowRider indoor surfing experience, interactive water play centers, private cabanas, swim up bar and food and beverage service. In the 30,000 square-foot indoor dry park there is a family arcade and game center, indoor ropes course, nine-hole mini-golf, two-story lazar tag arena, mini bowling and lazar maze. There is also a kids’ club activity center and rooms for private birthday parties.
