David Mancuso
A firkin is a small cask that was used for fish, some liquids, butter and so on. Originally it was a quarter of a barrel but later could be any small cask. This is a nice example of a country American firkin, retaining a wonderful “bittersweet” painted surface. The firkin is 8 inches high and has an 8.25-inch diameter. It is available at David M. Mancuso Antiques at the Old Church, 6075 Rt. 202 & Upper Mountain rd., New Hope, PA. For more information about this firkin, call 215-794-5009.
