The Allentown Rescue Mission has been selected to participate in this year’s “Philling the Need” Food Drive, one of ten collection drives hosted by the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and the IronPigs Charities. The Allentown Rescue Mission will collect canned and boxed non-perishable food items to feed the hundreds of homeless men who need their services annually when the IronPigs take on the Buffalo Bisons, Saturday, May 27th, 6:35 p.m., at Coca-Cola Park.
Donation stations will be set up at both the East and West gates located at the front of the ballpark. Food items can be dropped off when the gates open until the end of the second inning.
Below is a list of urgently needed items to provide the men with balanced meals:
Bottled Water
Canned Collard Greens
Canned Spinach
Granola & Cereal Bars
Grocery Store Gift Cards
Powdered Drink Mixes
Powdered Eggs
Single Serve Beverages
Single Serve Chips
Grocery store gift cards enable the Mission to purchase nutritious, perishable food, like fresh fruits and vegetables, for its guests.
Please come out and support the Allentown Rescue Mission and your Lehigh Valley IronPigs!
