Red Tulip
When you walk in the door at Red Tulip Gallery in New Hope, you immediately know there’s something special going on. Everyone is warmly greeted and invited to interact with and learn about the exquisite fine crafts, all of which are produced by the nearly 30 participating artists, all of whom are members of the Bucks County Guild of Craftsmen.
The artists staffing the gallery are knowledgeable and love to share tidbits about how a wooden bowl was turned, a sterling ring was cast, or a handbag was felted. The work is displayed invitingly and largely without barriers, encouraging you to get “hands on” with it. Red Tulip Gallery frequently hosts demos. During these free events, artists share their processes, answer questions, and educate young and old alike. Recent demos have included loom weaving, pottery carving, knitting, carving molds, and basketry. Even when formal demos aren’t planned and announced, it’s very likely that one of the artists staffing the gallery will have something “on the bench” that they are eager to show and share with visitors.
