Blue Raccoon’s
Blue Raccoon Home Furnishings is celebrating its 21st anniversary in July, and walking into this popular and well-known destination in Lambertville, NJ is like stepping into a friend’s cozy, comfortable home. Co-owners Nick Bewsey and Nelson Zayas divide their duties between marketing and interior design, respectively, but they’ve always realized that the customer comes first. “It’s always been about creating a pleasurable shopping experience,” says Bewsey. “The first thing we say after greeting you is to make yourself at home. As a home store, we want you to feel welcome here instead of pressured.” The store’s eclectic offerings give it a niche in the region for discerning shoppers who want something unique for their homes, from cozy club chairs to home fragrance. All of their upholstery is American made, highlighted by the Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams company, and more traditional styles by Vanguard Furniture. “We’ve been a MGBW retailer for eighteen years,” mentions Zayas. The store is also a good resource for custom farmhouse dining tables and cabinets, handcrafted in Lancaster, PA, and made with reclaimed antique barn wood and flooring. You can always find interesting rugs, table and floor lamps and a variety of gift items at affordable price points. Blue Raccoon Home Furnishings is open everyday, maintains an active social presence on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. Design services are available.
