BUCKS COUNTY BOOK FESTIVAL: Two Days, 40+ Professionally Published Authors for Book Lovers Young and Old
The Bucks County Book Festival, a Discover Doylestown event, will take place on October 13 and 14, 2018 in Doylestown. This two-day festival celebrates literacy, sparks imagination, and inspires people of all ages by connecting authors and readers. Most Festival events are free.
WRITING WORKSHOP, Saturday, October 13, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Ticketed Event)
The Writer's Workshop includes three great sessions for writers:
- Story-Telling in a Flash – Techniques to Kick Start Your Creativity
- Saboteur or Sage? Learn Who’s Holding the Pen – Advice from a Personal and Professional Coach
- Jumpstart Your Writing Career – Insider’s Tips from a New York Literary Agent and Author
CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL, Saturday, October 13, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Families are invited to the Children's Festival for readings and activities led by notable children’s book authors and illustrators. This event will be hosted by the Doylestown Fire Company. In addition to readings, there will be free arts & crafts, story times, and fire trucks!
KEYNOTE AUTHOR: Floyd Cooper, Saturday, October 13, 1 to 2 p.m. (Ticketed Event)
Author and illustrator Floyd Cooper, winner of the Coretta Scott King Award for his illustrations in The Blacker the Berry, will discuss his book, Sisters and Champions.
KEYNOTE AUTHOR: CHRIS HEDGES, Saturday, October 13, 6 to 7 p.m. (Ticketed Event)
The Festival continues Saturday evening with a special event: Pulitzer-prize winning journalist Chris Hedges will discuss his book, America: The Farewell Tour.
AUTHOR PANELS, Sunday, October 14, 12 to 5 p.m.
On Sunday afternoon, October 14, the Festival will feature activities for adults and teens.Included are panel discussions with 30+ authors from a variety of genres -- young adult, sci-fi/fantasy, fiction, cooking, and nonfiction. The Festival will also feature an author/filmmaker panel in collaboration with Bucks Fever Film Fest, a sports panel, a discussion on jacket and book cover design from a creative director at Penguin Random House, and more.

The Festival will conclude with a special keynote author event. The author is to be announced.
VENDORS, Sunday, October 14, 12 to 5 p.m.
Festival attendees can also visit the Festival’s vendor area. Vendors may include professional writers’ groups, self-published authors, and small publishing houses.
