Chrysa Smith
Bucks County, November 15, 2013--Chrysa Smith, Bucks County author of The Adventures of the Poodle Posse series, has just received an endorsement from The Dove Foundation for her latest book in the series, Trouble Down Under.
The Dove Foundation is part of the Dove Organization, most widely known for their beauty care products. In 1991, Dove formed their first non-profit foundation, based on the frustrations a group of parents were having with selecting appropriate media for their children’s viewing. According to their website, their mission is ‘To encourage and promote the creation, production, distribution and consumption of wholesome family entertainment.’ And they have worked with both movie studios and hospitals to provide parents with a trusted benchmark for product selection.
According to Smith, ‘As a parent and author, I look around and see a lot of good children’s books; books I’ve saved through the years and still flip through when feeling nostalgic. But I do believe there is a wave of products on the market that contain sensational, inappropriate or questionable titles and/or content. It’s nice for parents to have a trusted ‘seal of approval’ they can turn for help in selecting children’s books and movies.’
In addition to Dove, Smith’s books have received a silver medal from the Mom’s Choice Awards, which promotes excellence in family-friendly media, and a top pick on Amazon’s Children’s Bookshelf.
