Four the Paws, Inc., founded in 2011, is a non-profit, animal rescue organization headquartered in Yardley with an adoption center in Newtown. Our entirely volunteer-run organization fields hundreds of concerned phone calls annually regarding strays and focuses on rescuing primarily cats. Four the Paws, Inc. reaches a wide swath of territory from Southern Philadelphia to the Jersey Shore. All animals taken in by Four the Paws, Inc. receive immediate veterinary care and are tested for feline leukemia and FIV. Once suitable for adoption, our kitties are advertised on our Facebook page and Web site (www.fourthepaws.org). Adoptable animals can also be visited at adoption events throughout the year, such as the Yardley Harvest Day, and at our adoption center located at the Newtown Pet Valu, 2814 S Eagle Rd, in Newtown. “I began this organization to make a dent in Philadelphia’s considerable stray cat problem,” says Officer Carreen McCarthy. “Though the problem is still considerable, every adoption means there is one fewer cat suffering on the street.” Four the Paws, Inc. can be reached at 215-962-3499 or emeow04@msn.com.
