I remember Jaime with Body by Jake Energize Yourself-Fitness video. I can’t forget Jaime with Cher, in the Bally’s National Fitness commercial.
Well, through my close friend Elaine LaLanne, the late Jack LaLanne’s wife, I reached out to Jaime. Elaine, the Queen of fitness, and Jaime had recently finished a book titled, If You Want to Live-MOVE! They both say that it’s about putting the boom back into boomers. It is an absolutely good read! Elaine suggested I get in touch with Jaime.
I gave Jaime a call. I wanted to get some key questions answered directly from Jaime. I had some very good questions lined up for him which he answered quickly and with confidence. And, some were pertinent to the baby boomers, like me. His knowledge of the body and fitness is impressive.
Let’s start with his 8-minute workouts at any age. Yes, you can with continual movement with cardio resistance, which is comfortable at your own pace— beginner, intermediate or advanced—exercise with the 8-minute workout. People complain about having no time, Jaime says. After all, who doesn’t have 8-minutes or double to 16-minutes or 24 minutes for even more results?
I mentioned his 8-day challenge, 30-day shape up, 30-day slimdown and 12-week transformation. Jaime was quick to bring up his www.8minutebody.com. I googled it and this more than answered my questions. It not only tells you about exercising and nutrition but also how to keep those pounds off.
One of Jaime’s favorite sayings which is from Jack LaLanne is “Exercise is King, Nutrition is Queen.” Some great quotes from Jaime are lean, green, and clean. Lean is protein in each meal. Clean is eliminating the empty calories, and of course green is filling up on those vegetables. My husband Bill just heard me reading this sentence, and he asked me where the Pizza was? He always joking around, but we all can eat anything in moderation. So, never use the diet thing as an excuse not to exercise.
We want to increase muscle by adding resistance more as we age. LIIT, low intensity interval training Jamie says. It’s great for those baby boomers who suffer from arthritis and want exercises easy on their joints. No impact, easy on the joints, and your feet are on the ground. LIIT is made up of a mix of low and no impact exercise intervals. Even the most out of shape person can usually do low intensity cardio training safely. Whether you have bad knees, suffering from diabetes or whatever your health issue Jaime has a one-of-a-kind custom individual program just for you. He calls it “changing lives, one body at a time.”
Jaime says, we all want to live longer, look younger, and feel better. When getting the people moving, they feel better. Jaime’s big three D’s are discipline, dedication, and determination. Add these three into your lifestyle and you are going to succeed.
Many may feel starting an exercise program is too hard and will disrupt their lifestyle. Well, I can tell you right now, if I were to start an exercise program, I’d have to go with one of Jaime’s programs. His programs are simple, easy, safe and effective. If you are a slow learner like me, with his simple and easy to understand and follow programs, you can’t go wrong!
