COVID-19 has added another list of worries to people living with a heart condition. 1 in 3 adults with COVID-19 has symptoms that last after the virus. This develops a few weeks after COVID. Research suggests that after COVID, you are at increased risk of having blood clots, heart attack, heart failure, inflammation of the heart, and abnormal heartbeat, heart attack, and heart failure.
It’s essential to stay up-to-date with COVID immunizations and stay protected as new virus variants emerge.
What are symptoms of long COVID?
Common symptoms of long COVID include:
- Feeling tired all the time
- Shortness of breath
- Chest pain
- Fast or pounding heartbeat
- Leg swelling
