Jim Gannon, a young businessman with a background in finance and real estate, became concerned about the kinds of foods that were available in supermarkets. He was especially concerned about genetically modified foods (GMO) and pesticides. He wanted to buy healthful, organically grown food but realized it was a chore to find these foods. He said, “As a guy I just wanted to be able to go to a store where I didn’t have to read the labels.” And since no such stores existed, Jim decided to open one. The store he opened is Organnons Natural Market, which is a place where all the food is organically grown, non-GMO food. When local produce is in season Jim buys local and deals with local farms and food producers. At Organnons you can find just about anything you would find in a supermarket. There is produce, meats, fish and fowl, frozen, packaged foods and even soda. “The difference in price isn’t that much,” Jim said. “And you know that the everything we sell is organic, GMO and pesticide free.” Organnons Natural Market also carries health and beauty products. And, of course, you will not have to read all the labels—everything is organic. Organnons Natural Market is located at 591 Durham Road
