Cooper Mech
by Donna Dvorak
As the weather changes so does our concern over properly heating and cooling our homes. Being thrifty as possible and green minded we want effective energy efficient heating and cooling systems, aesthetic plumbing and plumbing hardware that keeps us from wasting water and yet gives us strong showers and water power from the kitchen sink. Most of us are not plumbers nor HVAC technicians, so we depend on others to be able to do projects, take care of maintenance and to handle HVAC emergencies.
Cooper Mechanical, Inc., owned by Louis and Geraldine Cooper, is a family business in Ottsville that specializes in HVAC, plumbing and plumbing hardware and other services such as radiant heat systems, residential, light commercial HVAC, geothermal systems, multi-zone systems, plumbing and more. The business includes Louis and Geraldine’s son Louis, Jr. and their daughter, Vicki Cooper.
Cooper Mechanical has a complete design and layout department for residential, light commercial plumbing, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) fire sprinkler and gas pipe needs. They are fully licensed to work within your township building codes and specifications. “We have trained experts in their field,” says Vicki. “Our departments are headed by knowledgeable people. If someone walks in and needs a showerhead the person who runs our showroom knows the complete line of our brands and fixtures. We carry Moen, Kohler and many other popular brands. We have our HVAC manager who knows what works in every situation and this is what makes us a great company. My brother, Louis Cooper, Jr. has a Master License in plumbing as well as a double major from college so his expertise of knowing which pipe sizing for water or drains makes our company successful.”
Her brother, Louis Cooper Jr., has been helping their dad on and off during summers and holiday vacations since he was ten, but now brings his expertise full time. “I oversee the sales and daily operation of the plumbing department,” he says. “I’m a registered Master Plumber in several municipalities in PA and NJ. My college experience of management and graphic design helps with management techniques and understanding the statistical standpoint. I always try to stress the simplistic nature of business in the local communities and trying to provide a service in our community of putting a quality product out on the street at a fair price.”
