Meadows
Nursing Homes are often associated with a hospital like setting where residents are patients who are cared for by an overworked and often uncaring staff. This is not the case with a new approach called The Greenhouse, developed by elder care reformer Dr. Bill Thomas. Morris Hall Meadows in Lawrenceville offers this approach for their residents, who live in actual homes offering more privacy and comfort than traditional nursing home settings. Each of the thoughtfully designed single-level homes has ten private bed-and-bath suites overlooking beautifully landscaped grounds. Also in the center of each home, and accessible to residents at all times, are a spacious hearth room with a fireplace facing a comfortable patio, a shared dining room and an open kitchen, as well as a spa area and library. The goal of Morris Hall Meadows of Lawrenceville is for each resident to have a meaningful life with as much autonomy over his or her activities as they choose. Residents control their own daily routines and rhythms for waking, sleeping, meals, self-care and alone time. Morris Hall Meadows will be a Medicare and Medicaid approved skilled nursing facility. Residents will have access to a vast array of services, further complemented by the therapy resources of St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center. Morris Hall Meadows is located at One Bishops’ Drive, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. For more information, call 609-896-0006 or visit www.morrishall.org
