Sage
Having a BA in horticulture and an MA in Landscape Design, Eric started his own business, Sage Landscape Design. Eric firmly believes in the principle that architecture has to be combined with the laws of nature to create a healthy, sustainable landscape. Sage Landscape Design not only keeps the end goal of the project in view, but also the potentially serious implications that our actions will have on wildlife habitat, storm water runoff, local and regional ecology, and future generations. Eric says, “Some people think that sustainable landscaping means lots of native wildflowers.” Disagreeing with some of the common misconceptions about sustainable landscape design, he explains that being concerned with where water goes, using reclaimed bricks and other materials, going to local sources for materials so that less energy is used in transportation and using LED lighting is really what sustainable landscape design is all about. Eric says, “Landscape architects and designers should consider themselves to be stewards of the land and work with it rather than against it.” Sage Landscape Design is located at 503 East Washington Ave., Newtown, PA 18940.
