Dangerous cast
The Village Players of Hatboro announces the third production of their 64th Season. It is the drama, “Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Dangerous Liaisons)” by Christopher Hampton. The show premieres on Friday, March 13th at 8:00 p.m. The theater is located at 401 Jefferson Avenue in Hatboro. For information, call the box office at 215-675-6774.
The Marquise de Merteuil (Andrea Ambs) and the Vicomte de Valmont (Nigel Rogers) are rivals who use sex as a weapon of humiliation and degradation. Their cruel plan to ruin the virtuous Madame de Tourvel (Jenny Sullens) becomes complicated when the Vicomte develops genuine feelings for her; and the Marquise becomes incredibly jealous and vengeful. Other pawns in their game include Madame Volange (Carol Leister), the protective mother of young and innocent Cecile (Natalie Smith), whose feelings for her music tutor, the Chevalier Danceny (Kevin Christian), are challenged when Valmont turns his attentions toward her. Rounding out the cast of characters are Valmont’s aging Aunt Rosemonde (Regina Deavitt), a courtesan named Emilie (Ashley Lora-Lee), Valmont’s valet, Azolan (Greg Davis), Merteuil’s Major-Domo (Jon Zucker), and various servants. This Tony Award-winning Best Play offers an unapologetic look at the cost of power, seduction, and revenge. The show contains adult situations and content not suitable for young or sensitive audiences.
Gina Lutz is directing the show. Gina also helmed last summer’s show at the playhouse, the very successful, “She Kills Monsters”. Producing the show is Keith Maliszewski who served as assistant director of “In-Laws, Outlaws and Other People (Who Should Be Shot)”.
“Les Liaisons Dangereuses” opens on Friday, March 13th, 2015 with an 8:00 p.m. curtain. Tickets are only $15. The show runs the next three weekends in March. There are two Sunday matinees on March 15th and March 22nd at 2:00 p.m. The Village Players of Hatboro is a non-profit community theater located in residential Hatboro at 401 Jefferson Avenue near County Line Road between Jacksonville and Warminster Roads.
