Fred Beans Automotive Group has been named among the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2021 Healthiest Employers in the Greater Philadelphia Region. The Doylestown-based company is one of only five “large” organizations, those with 1500 or more employees, to be a finalist for the 2021 Healthiest Employers list, which recognizes Greater Philadelphia companies that emphasize and integrate employee wellness into their corporate missions.
Beth Beans Gilbert, Fred Beans Automotive Group vice president, explained that making wellness part of the Fred Beans culture was a strategic move on the part of company management. “We know both physical and mental health impact employee performance and satisfaction,” she said. “It may seem unusual for an automotive company to invest in health and wellness programming, but it makes sense. When our employees feel good, they transfer that energy into their interactions and have greater success.”
Fred Beans Automotive Group solidified its commitment to health and wellness several years ago with the hiring of a dedicated wellness coordinator, Andrea Volm. She oversees a range of healthy living initiatives, from information-rich “Lunch and Learns” to incentives encouraging preventative health screenings, and even company-wide 30-Day Fitness Challenges.
Fred Beans added, “I always have said we are only as good as our people. Our health and wellness programming has become an important means of caring for our employees and helping them bring their best selves to work every day. I believe this sets us apart, and the recognition we are receiving for it will continue to help us attract great talent.”
