Cock & Bull
Peddler’s Village, a countryside shopping, dining, lodging, and family entertainment destination in the heart of historic Bucks County, PA, that has presented weekly murder mystery dinner theater performances for decades, will resume the series on Saturday, August 8, with a regular production of Cheers to Murder. The shows were halted when Peddler’s Village was closed in mid-March because of the shutdown, and will start again with new safety measures in place six weeks after Bucks County has moved into the “green phase” of recovery. Performances are currently planned for: August 8 and 15; September 12 and 26; and October 3 and 17.
While presenting the shows, Peddler’s Village will adhere to all state and local safety requirements, including: limiting attendance to no more than half of the normal capacity; maintaining at least six feet of space between areas occupied by separate parties; ensuring actors remain at least six feet away from any guests while performing on a set stage area; requiring servers to wear masks; requiring guests to wear masks unless they are seated and strongly encouraging masks while guests are not eating or drinking; disposable menus; disinfecting of banquet spaces before and after performances, with particular emphasis on common and high-traffic areas; and asking guests and employees who feel ill to refrain from coming to Peddler’s Village. To avoid a restroom surge, there will be no intermission.
Cheers to Murder will be presented at the Cock ‘n Bull Restaurant at 8 p.m. on Saturday evenings starting on August 8. Performances will continue on select evenings through October 31. In addition to the show, the events include a three-course dinner and a cash bar. The fee for each person is $69.95 and includes the show and dinner as well as tax and gratuity. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 215-794-4051. The Cock ‘n Bull Restaurant is located at Rt. 263 and Street Road in Lahaska, PA.
Since 1990, Peddler’s Village has teamed with Without a Cue Productions, based in Bensalem, PA, to present the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater program at Peddler’s Village. Since then, more than 235,000 people have attended the program at the Cock ‘n Bull, and many return for subsequent visits—even for the same production. Recent popular shows include Crime of Thrones, The Golden Girls, and The Goblet of Poison.
“We are very pleased to revive our popular mystery series with new and very important safety measures in place,” said Bob McGowan, the chief operating officer of Peddler’s Village. “Created by local professionals, these original productions offer plenty of laughs and a fun evening out for couples, families, or small groups of friends. Especially now, after months of being housebound, it seems that people really want to have a good time. At Peddler’s Village, we want to help them do that wisely and safely, and give everyone a reason to smile.”
