In 1995 Rob Bain started Sound Investments LLC, a company that purchases all kinds of musical instruments from owners who no longer have a need for them. The company motto is “We put instruments into the hands of people who play them.”
Sound Investments pays more for instruments you are not using than music stores and will make immediate cash payments for instruments in any condition. The instruments are then repaired and restored, sold, traded or donated. Sound Investments takes pride in donating tens of thousands of dollars in musical instruments to schools and non-profit music programs.
In his youth, Rob Bain joined other budding musicians and formed the Miniature Beatles. His group opened up at political affairs and social events in New Jersey. At a performance, they were recognized for their talents in Time magazine. Rob was fortunate enough to have met the Beatles when they played at Shea Stadium.
Rob played music all through high school and college. Several of his friends were successful in the music world. One friend at age 17 played at Madison Square Garden with Johnny Winter and another friend had a number one hit. While in college Rob played in a band with the lead guitarist from Bob Marley and the Wailers. After college, he became a collector of vintage guitars. He expanded his collection to include all instruments forming a successful business, Sound Investments LLC.
Recently, Rob retired from his VP role in a large technology company to continue to grow Sound Investments.
