Natalie Searl learned photography from her parents who were both avid photographers. A graduate from the University of Southern California, Natalie can still reminisce about her life in California, when as a young girl she learned to take photographs using a Brownie Box camera. Now, using a digital camera, Natalie takes art quality photographs of the Bucks County landscape, which has enchanted her for over 20 years. She says, “It’s not just about taking pictures; it’s about appreciating the world we live in. I like to share my appreciation.”
Natalie shares her appreciation in a unique way. She takes her photos to a commercial printer, Graphic Imaging on 611 in Pipersville, to make giclée prints on canvas using museum quality inks. The result is Natalie’s beautiful photographs now look painterly. To heighten the effect of the giclée on canvas, Natalie frames the photos with recycled barn wood frames.
Natalie has been participating in regional juried fine art and craft shows since 2006. She works out of her Haycock Township home studio, which overlooks a picturesque pond. Some of her photos are taken right from Haycock-A-Doodle Farm where she and her husband Clint had raised chickens for 11 years. At Haycock- A-Doodle her Japanese garden, flowers and the woods and wildlife are all subjects for her photography.
Natalie has won awards for her art and has been shown extensively in juried and other fine art shows. Natalie regularly brings her work to craft shows, farmers markets, community days, and she sells it in local retail stores.
Natalie also has taken photos in Ireland and throughout the Southwest. She is represented by the Arte de Placitas Gallery in Placitas, New Mexico, where she and her husband live part time.
