Art Gallery

The term ‘struggling artist’ hardly applies to Edie Wells Bristol, who by most accounts has led a charmed life. One that has included a prestigious education, travel abroad, trips to the opera and a summer home. But the icing on the cake came when she was 50 and picked up a paintbrush. A sleeping giant was awakened and a natural talent was unleashed on the art world.
Always more of an art appreciator than an active participant, “I never thought I could do it,” she said. With no formal training other than a few art enrichment classes, “I had absolutely no background,” she added, “but also had no expectation.”
What she did have was spirit and optimism, and both continue to infuse her life and work today.
During the past 30 years, her paintings have been shown at various galleries and museums throughout Bucks and Delaware Counties, including New Jersey, Minnesota and Wisconsin. She has often shown at the Phillips Mill Juried Art Exhibition in New Hope, PA and at the Bianco Gallery. Currently, Edie is represented by Rich Timmons Studio and Gallery on Route 202, Doylestown, PA.
