Dr. Genin
Dr. Gina Genin, a Morrisville/ Falls Township chiropractor who practices a gentle technique called Directional Non Force Technique (D.N.F.T.), wants to educate people on the importance of regular chiropractic adjustments. She explains, “When most people think about chiropractic, they think of it in relation to back pain, but chiropractic is really all about function.” The function of our bodies depends on proper communication between the brain and the rest of the body, which is what chiropractic adjustments help maintain. Chiropractic uses the body’s own ability to heal itself by getting rid of interference with the proper communication between the brain and the rest of the body through adjustments to a vertebra that is misaligned with the vertebrae above it or below it. Typically chiropractic adjustments are done with lots of force, which is what causes that cracking sensation and popping noise. For people in pain or who do not like the force used, D.N.F.T. is perfect. Dr. Genin says, “The technique is not only gentle, but it is also very specific.” Thus only using pressure where it is needed.
The perfect time to begin Chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Genin says, is at birth. Because of the larger size of babies due to better pre-natal nutrition, during delivery the shoulders often stuck and to get the baby out there is much twisting of the neck. This often causes subluxation, or a misaligned vertebra. And with D.N.F.T Dr. Genin can give and infant an adjustment without any discomfort. Chiropractors do treat back and neck pain, but they are also available to regularly adjust spines and thereby help people adjust better to life.
