Help. We have been taught from an early age that it is okay to ask for help if needed but, sometimes it can be difficult. I am asking for help for each of the 54 animals that call Gratitude Gate their home. For those that have been saved, rehabilitated and loved as individuals under our care over the past 3 years. A sanctuary by definition is a place of safety and comfort. Our mission as a nonprofit animal sanctuary is to give our rescues that security and comfort and it will always be our number one priority.
For the past 2 and a half years, Gratitude Gate has called 20 acres in Bucks County, Pennsylvania home. My husband and I signed a two year lease to own that due to no fault of our own, fell apart only 4 months after moving in. Our landlord was forced to put the property up for sale on the open market, where it has stayed for the past two years. Legally, we could not break our lease and had been unable to satisfy his purchase price. Having to show the property when given notice strained any momentum we had for Gratitude Gate's future. At the end of our 2 years the lease went month to month. This was just as COVID-19 shut down all non-essential activity in our area. Even after repeated talks about moving forward with the purchase of our current property the owner has come forward with a cash buyer coming in this weekend... and it's not us. I can't stop this sale or any others here but, I think a miracle showed up just in time.
A beautiful farm on 41 acres of rolling fields is for sale by a gentleman I know. The barns have everything our kids need to call home. There is even an onsite location for our future goal to help more wildlife! With some elbow grease and cow drool, it could be the very best for our kids. My husband and I are able to cover two thirds of the cost of the property and want to make sure Gratitude Gate has a say in the rest. To do this Gratitude Gate must raise $150,000.
A farm like this with all of the space and building requirements we need is extremely hard to find in our area. We are almost out of time at our current location and winter is coming quickly. Please help share in Gratitude Gate's venture to a forever home, your kindness and generosity is the reason we can believe in a future for all of the animals under our care. All donations are tax deductible and other questions can be answered by emailing gratitudegate@gmail.com.
Thank you for believing in love.
