Leah Atkinson
Leah Atkinson wrote her book at the kitchen table, an appropriate place for a mother to write about some of the rough spots of parenting two boys; one who had a serious rare condition that required the removal of his intestines and the other a prodigal whose walk into rebellion shook up the household. She provocatively asks at the beginning of her Introduction, “Have you ever wished, even for a moment that your child was dead, or would simply disappear?” From there we hop on an emotional roller coaster that tells the story of how Leah and her family went from tragedy and affliction to hope and restoration. It is a must read for anyone who ever raised or is in the process of raising children. For those who feel lost in the quagmire of parenthood, this book is a life preserver that shouldn’t be ignored. Just Another Run of the Mill Day is available at Amazon, Barnesandnoble.com, The Newtown Bookshop and from November14 through December 15 at the Three Arches Gift Shoppe on 335 Trenton Rd, Fairless Hills, PA.
