Starstruck at Micheners
The James A. Michener Art Museum’s amazing exhibit, Starstruck: The Fine Art of Astrophotography is in the Paton, Smith, and Della Penna-Fernberger Galleries until February 8, 2015. This exhibit is one of the first major exhibitions treating astrophotography as an art genre and presents new some new scholarship in this field. There are 100 images displayed by 35 artists from around the world. The show has a variety of subjects that range from landscapes to deep sky objects and includes historically significant photographs such as the first successful image of the solar analemma. The work was selected by a distinguished team of jurors and is organized by the Bates College Museum of Art, Lewistown, Maine. The Fine Art of Astrophotography is generously supported by Visit Bucks County. Additional support is provided by the Bucks County Foundation and Bloomingdale’s. The James A.
