In March of 2021, a fire to the building caused tremendous destruction, requiring a complete rebuild. This project commenced in July, 2022 but the property’s story began in 1834 when it first opened its doors as a tavern called “The Franklin House” offering food and lodging to travelers on the newly constructed State Road. “By 1900, the Carriage House was used as a prep area for horses, traveling this long road,” said Bud Hansen, President of Normandy Farm. “We are excited to bring history back to life for our guests.”
The new Carriage House architecture will complement the other historic buildings on-site with the red and white theme. New upgrades include: The all-suite Carriage House will receive all new furniture, art, carpets and rustic wall treatments. Select suites will have private porches, patios, and/or state-of-the art fireplaces.
The exterior grounds will feature a beautiful terrace and firepit area. 1GB Internet with enhanced WIFI speed, with expanded coverage to all corners of the Carriage House
The last renovation at Normandy Farm took place in 2017 in the main hotel and featured $1.7 million in upgrades to the interior hotel rooms. This new building will further enhance the guest experience for bridal parties, families, and corporate groups, desiring connected rooms or booking the full farmhouse.
